Job description

Responsibilities

The Site Engineering Manager role is to develop the team, their department’s procedures and systems, delivering a world class engineering service that promotes a H&S culture and an efficient manufacturing environment.

• Develop a focussed maintenance culture across a chilled & frozen added value function
  • A detailed PPM system that includes Time Based Maintenance, FMEA, Risk Based Maintenance, Condition Based Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance
• Deliver a world class H&S culture by
  • Understanding statutory obligations and ensuring they are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Ensuring there is a risk based culture to the tasks undertaken
  • Culture change leading to a safety first mindset
  • Developing departmental systems that promote H&S and deliver workable H&S processes
• Deliver the financial controls by
  • Ensuring stores stocks are managed via a risk based assessment
  • Deliver departmental spending to agreed budgets
  • Promoting engineering incentives that contribute to delivering savings within the business
  • Ensuring we buy at best price or best value
• Develop people by
  • Ensuring correct shift patterns that minimise cost but deliver maximum efficiency
  • Developing a costed departmental training matrix that delivers H&S requirements, business needs, personal development and departmental contribution
  • Setting up and delivering structured communications through 1 to 1's, departmental meetings
  • Monitoring the engineering team to ensure they deliver the principles you set out to deliver
  • Ensuring standards are department wide and not just the Engineering Manager’s standard
  • Doing things right even when no one is there
• Improve departmental development by
  • Setting up Hi 5's across the department reviewing on a regular basis
  • Communicating across all functions within the business
