Job summary

Digital Realty Trust, L.P. is seeking a Site Engineer I to support data center infrastructure on the day shift. You will perform maintenance, testing and surveillance of assets to ensure reliable operation and SLA delivery.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and Site Operations Management, participate in on-call duties, and continuously develop technical skills while maintaining a safe, compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in site operations within critical environments.
• City & Guilds Level 2 electrical qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience with electrotechnical/mechanical systems preferred over novice level.

Responsibilities

Job description

Your role

The Site Engineer I (day shift) core responsibility is to perform infrastructure related activities in our Data Centers to ensure a reliable and efficient operation of the technical infrastructure.
This is achieved through maintenance, testing and surveillance of all assets installed. The Site Engineer I role is critical to meet Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and deliver client satisfaction.

• Ensure adherence to company safety policies, operational efficiency, and core values.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
• Assist in maintenance and repair tasks as directed by senior engineers or Site Operations Management.
• Participate in on-call duties and incident management when required.
• Support and collaborate with other engineers under the guidance of Site Management.
• Maintain proficiency in essential technical skills, such as troubleshooting, maintenance and systems.
• Continuously improve skills and knowledge through practical experience and training opportunities.

• Ensures that all work is carried out within a 'safe system' and approved work processes, risk assessment and specified work procedures, complying with best practice standards and legal requirements.

What you’ll need

Hard Skills

• Some experience of site operations in a critical environment and maintenance of large scale electrotechnical and/or mechanical systems
• City & Guilds level 2 electrical qualification, or equivalent.
• Preferably skilled, but at minimum novice in operation and maintenance of electrotechnical and/or mechanical systems
• Fire detection maintenance and suppression systems knowledge will be preferrable
• Some knowledge of technical security systems (CCTV, Access Control)
• HVAC Mechanical and/or Electrical will be preferrable
