Job summary

Belcan is seeking an experienced Site Engineer for an on-site role in Peterborough. You will manage on-site engineering activities, ensure correct setting out, maintain surveys and records, and coordinate with project teams to uphold safety and project standards.

You will review drawings, raise design queries, and mentor junior engineers while supporting delivery across major civil infrastructure projects. IR35 status and contract terms apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in a site engineering role on infrastructure or civil projects.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
• Civil Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc, or equivalent).
• SMSTS and First Aid certifications.
• Experience on utility or similar infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage on-site engineering activities and support project delivery teams.
• Ensure work areas are correctly set out and permits are in place.
• Maintain site surveys, records, diaries, and progress documentation.
• Coordinate with project teams, supervisors, and suppliers to ensure safe working practices.
• Review drawings and raise technical queries with the design team.
• Mentor and support junior engineers.
