Overview

Setting Out Engineer (Highways) – Near Weston-super-Mare

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (up to £55,000 for highly experienced candidates)

We're currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to join a major highways project near Weston-super-Mare. If you're confident in setting out from technical drawings, proficient with AutoCAD, and experienced in using Leica TS16, this is an excellent opportunity to make your mark on a nationally significant scheme.

The Role

You'll be joining the project at a crucial stage, with main construction now underway. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring accurate site delivery and compliance with design specifications. This is an immediate start position, ideal for someone ready to hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting out works in line with construction drawings and specifications
• Reading and interpreting technical plans and producing accurate as-builts
• Operating Leica TS16 Total Station with confidence and precision
• Collaborating with the engineering and site management teams to ensure build accuracy
• Assisting with quality control and site records
• Using AutoCAD to support daily tasks and reporting

Requirements

• Prior UK experience as a Site or Setting Out Engineer
• Proficient with Leica TS16 and AutoCAD
• Confident in reading drawings and producing as-built documentation
• Familiarity with civil infrastructure projects (roads, earthworks, drainage, etc.)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• CSCS card and full UK driving licence essential
