Site Engineer - KierBam JV Project at Devonport Dockyard

We're looking for a Site Engineer to join our KierBam JV project at Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth, Devon. KierBAM is a joint venture between Kier and Bam Nuttall, currently delivering a redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site.

Hours: Permanent, 45 hours per week

Responsibilities

As a Site Engineer, you'll work within the Nuclear team, supporting the delivery of the redevelopment project at the Dockyard. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Assisting in recording and testing workmanship and materials such as drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork, etc.
  • Providing engineering support to resolve technical problems and queries.
  • Setting out works within allowable tolerances.
  • Checking setting out points, benchmarks, and ensuring calibration certificates for instruments are recorded.
  • Maintaining setting out and dimensional control for accurate construction.
Candidate Requirements

This role is suitable if:

  • You have a degree in civil engineering or equivalent (e.g., BSc, BA, BEng, Meng, Eng, Tech, MICE, TIStructE, LCIBSE, LCIBSEEng Tech) or have completed a Higher Apprenticeship.
  • You are familiar with Leica Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Optical & digital levels) for setting out and surveying.
  • You have experience in a similar role.

Due to the high-security military naval base, additional security checks are required, including BPSS level clearance, which may take up to 8 weeks. Only candidates with EU, NATO, 5 Eyes, or MISWG passports and UK residence for the last 5 years will be considered.
