Job summary

Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd is currently seeking a Site Engineer for the Devonport Dockyard project in Southwest England. Based on site, you will oversee day-to-day site engineering activities and ensure compliance with health and safety, quality, and project standards.

You will coordinate subcontractors and site teams, review drawings and raise technical queries, maintain site records and progress documentation, and support planning, scheduling, inspections, and handover activities.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Previous site engineering experience within construction or infrastructure.
• CSCS card and SMSTS or IOSH certification.
• Strong knowledge of health & safety and site documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.

Site Engineer - Devonport Dockyard

Location: Southwest England (Site-Based)

Start: ASAP

Contract: Initial 6 months

Rate: £450 per day (Umbrella PAYE)

• Maintain site records, daily diaries, and progress documentation.
• Support planning, scheduling, inspections, and handover activities.

Requirements

• Degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Previous site engineering experience within construction or infrastructure.

• Strong knowledge of health & safety and site documentation.

Desirable

• Experience in regulated environments (e.g., nuclear or defence).
• Knowledge of BIM, CAD, P6, Aphex, or NEC contracts.
• Additional site qualifications such as Temporary Works or Lifting Operations.
