Job description
The Role

As a Site Engineer, you will be crucial to the successful construction phase of our projects. You will be responsible for setting out, quality assurance, and technical support on site for major civil engineering works within operational water treatment environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurate Setting Out: Undertake all necessary setting out and surveying for civil engineering elements (concrete structures, earthworks, pipework, etc.).
  • Technical Compliance: Ensure construction is carried out according to design drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance (QA): Manage the inspection and test plans (ITPs), maintain comprehensive records, and compile handover documentation.
  • Site Support: Provide technical assistance and information to site management, supervisors, and the direct workforce.
  • Health & Safety: Actively promote and enforce high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance on site.
  • Design Liaison: Liaise with the design team and subcontractors to resolve technical issues promptly.
What You'll Bring
  • A degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
  • Essential experience as a Site Engineer on heavy civil engineering projects.
  • Specific experience within the UK Water Sector (Waste Water Treatment Works is highly desirable).
  • Proficiency in using modern surveying equipment (total stations, GPS, etc.) and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
  • CSCS card is essential.
