Job summary

A civil engineering company in Ipswich is seeking an experienced Site Engineer for a major bulk earthworks project. Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer for a major bulk earthworks project, available for an immediate start. This is a contract role lasting 5-7 months, offered on a CIS or Limited Company basis.

Responsibilities

• Setting out and surveying for large-scale bulk earthworks operations
• Conducting topographical surveys and managing as-built records
• Working with machine control systems and assisting in GPS model uploads and updates
• Creating and managing 3D models for site planning and volume calculations
• Supporting the site team with technical input and ensuring works are delivered to specification
• Liaising with subcontractors, supervisors and project managers for progress and technical coordination

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on earthworks or civil engineering projects
• Proficiency with LSS software for modelling, design and reporting
• Strong knowledge of machine control systems (e.g. Trimble, Topcon)
• Experience with topo surveys, data processing and CAD integration
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and communicate clearly with site teams
• Valid CSCS card and full UK driving licence

Desirable

• Own equipment (GPS kit, laptop with software licences)
• HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
