Job summary

The People Group are currently recruiting a freelance Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer to join a specialist subcontractor delivering groundworks and reinforced concrete at Felixstowe Port. The role requires a strong background in groundworks and RC, ideally with marine/port exposure.

Leica surveying experience is essential, with SMSTS, CAT & Genny, and solid site management skills. Based at Felixstowe Port on a 12-month freelance CIS contract.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on heavy civils or groundworks projects.
• Strong experience with groundworks and reinforced concrete.
• Previous marine or port experience would be highly beneficial.
• Practical experience using Leica surveying equipment is essential.
• SMSTS certification.
• CAT & Genny experience.
• Strong communication and site management skills.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out setting out duties across groundworks and reinforced concrete activities.
• Managing quality assurance, completing ITPs and ensuring works meet project specifications.
• Managing and supporting junior engineering staff.
• Monitoring site progress and coordinating engineering activities.
• Liaising with the client and wider project team.
• Reviewing RAMS and ensuring works are delivered safely and in line with programme requirements.

The People Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer to join a specialist subcontractor delivering a groundworks and reinforced concrete package at Felixstowe Port. The successful candidate will have a strong background in groundworks and reinforced concrete, ideally with previous marine or port experience.
