Job summary

Hewett Recruitment is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator for a busy food manufacturing site near Bewdley. The role focuses on maintaining the Quality Management System, ensuring food safety and quality compliance across operations.

You will work cross-functionally with production, logistics and safety teams, lead audits, manage HACCP and BRCGS requirements, and drive continuous improvement. Own transport is essential due to rural location.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing or food production.
• Experience in Quality Assurance or Technical roles.
• Strong knowledge of BRCGS standards and food safety.
• Internal auditing experience.
• HACCP knowledge and practical involvement.
• Experience investigating non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence colleagues at all levels.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Ensure compliance with BRCGS Food Safety Standards and other certification requirements.
• Promote a positive food safety, quality and hygiene culture across the site.
• Support customer, third-party and certification audits, including preparation and corrective actions.
• Conduct internal audits and GMP inspections to verify compliance and identify improvements.
• Investigate quality incidents, customer complaints and non-conformances, implementing corrective actions.
• Participate in HACCP and TACCP teams and support risk assessments.
• Coordinate site calibration programme for key equipment including detectors, magnets, sieves and scales.
• Complete customer questionnaires, technical documentation and product specifications.
• Deliver training on food safety, quality and hygiene.
• Support quality KPI reporting and continuous improvement projects.
• Collaborate with production, warehouse, operations and health & safety teams.
