Job summary

Involve Recruitment in Cardiff is seeking a Site Agent to join a civil engineering contractor delivering water infrastructure projects across South & West Wales. You will lead site operations, supervise teams and subcontractors, and ensure works are completed safely, on programme and within budget.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure HSEQ compliance while coordinating with commercial teams and client representatives.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Site Agent or Sub Agent within civil engineering contracting.
• Background in water, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of site management, HSEQ compliance, and construction delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage site operations and coordinate construction activities.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget.
• Supervise site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Monitor project progress and address any delivery risks.
• Work closely with commercial teams to support cost control and contract management.

Overview

We are working with a leading contractor group that has secured a long-term framework to upgrade and maintain capital assets across the water sector in South & West Wales. With multiple live projects and a strong pipeline of future work, they are looking to appoint a Site Agent to join their expanding team. Schemes include pressurised pipelines, rising mains, pumping stations, and mechanical, electrical, and civil upgrades to wastewater treatment works. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and safe delivery of water infrastructure projects, ensuring works are completed to programme, within budget, and in accordance with all health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements. • Degree / HNC / HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
• SMSTS and a full UK driving licence
