Overview

We have exciting opportunities of full/part-time substantive post to join our team. Ward 401 is a high performing, forward thinking ward with a supportive Senior Nursing team. You will be expected to uphold and ensure high standards of care and professionalism at all times and be able to support the care delivery on a day to day basis. Ward 401 is a care of the elderly ward focusing on delivering a high standard of patient care while encouraging patient independence to enable discharge home or a suitable alternative when home is no longer safe or appropriate.

Applicants should be compassionate, dynamic, reliable and flexible with the ability to demonstrate strong leadership and demonstrable post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting. Excellent clinical, knowledge and communication skills with exemplary standards of care are required. You will be a role model for the team and will motivate and inspire others to be the very best they can be. You should be able to work days and nights, both during the week and at weekends. A strong and visible leadership presence is required to support the Senior Sister with the ongoing development of Ward 401, striving towards continued excellence of care for acutely unwell older people.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Sister with ongoing development of Ward 401 and lead the team to maintain high standards of care and professionalism.
  • Contribute to day-to-day delivery of care on a care of the elderly ward, promoting patient independence and appropriate discharge planning.
  • Provide leadership and act as a role model to motivate and inspire colleagues and junior staff.
  • Demonstrate strong clinical decision-making and effective communication with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Work flexibly across day and night shifts, including weekends.
