Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Ward Sister to join our compassionate, friendly and forward‑thinking team. Ward 1 is a 21‑bedded acute medical ward which specialises in respiratory care. This is an ideal chance to further your career, increase your knowledge and clinical skills, and work closely with the multidisciplinary team within a positive and challenging environment. You will have the opportunity to learn new skills such as high‑flow oxygen (Opti‑Flow), chest drain management and NIV (non‑invasive ventilation).

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of nursing staff to deliver high standards of care.
  • Assess, plan and evaluate the care needs of a group of patients with support from the ward manager, colleagues and education team.
  • Collaborate with Respiratory Consultants and Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialists to enable prompt discharges and facilitate community needs and training.
  • Ensure clinical practice is evidence‑based and up to date through ongoing teaching.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with Band 6 experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and a highly motivated approach to working within a dynamic team.
