Job summary

FASTSIGNS #380301 is hiring a full-time Sign Production Specialist to join our team in Birmingham. You will follow layouts to apply vinyl or full-color graphics on substrates, prepare materials, and ensure quality through proofreading against Work Orders.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in sign production, a high school diploma, and the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of sign production experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to stand for long periods (4+ hours).
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
• Able to lean over a waist-high table and apply vinyl.

Responsibilities

• Follow layouts to apply vinyl or full-color graphics.
• Prepare substrates by cutting, painting, laminating, and cleaning.
• Weed excess vinyl and handle various sizes and complexities.
• Operate and maintain print equipment.
• Check quality by reading Work Orders and proofreading.
• Finish pieces with laminating and mounting.
• Report inventory levels and reorder stock.
• Keep storage areas clean and organized.

A Successful FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist Will

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium


• Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc


• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images


• Operate and maintain printer(s)


• Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards


• Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces


• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee.


• Clean and maintain storage areas

Ideal Qualifications For FASTSIGNS Sign Production Specialist

• 1-2 years of experience in sign production preferred


• High school diploma or equivalent


• Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)


• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds


• Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate


• Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work


• Ability to use light power equipment
