Job summary

Guide Dogs is seeking a Sighted Guide Training Officer to work from home with regular regional travel across Newcastle upon Tyne, County Durham and Northumberland and occasional UK trips. You will deliver Sighted Guide training, support mobility goals, and build networks with local organisations and volunteers.

You will lead volunteer trainers, manage referrals, and partner with community and corporate groups to ensure high-quality training delivery and inclusive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering training, building community networks, and supporting volunteers.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
• Level 3 Award in Education and Training or willingness to work towards attaining this.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sighted Guide training to diverse audiences (local organisations, Friends & Family groups, corporate partners).
• Build and manage networks with community and corporate organisations; develop training partnerships.
• Lead and support a team of volunteer trainers, mentoring their development and ensuring high delivery standards.
• Handle local training referrals and align sessions with Guide Dogs’ services and objectives.
• Travel within the Newcastle/North East region with occasional UK travel; coordinate outreach with Service Marketing.
