Job summary

BSW Timber Ltd. is seeking a reliable FLT/Side Loader Driver to join our busy Melton yard team, moving timber across the site and supporting production with safe, efficient handling.

This role offers full training for the Side Loader, a friendly, safety-focused environment, and long-term employment with opportunities to progress within the BSW Timber group.

Qualifications

• Valid Side Loader or FLT Counterbalance licence (minimum requirement).
• Willingness to train as a Side Loader driver with full training provided.
• Experience in timber or sawmill environments is advantageous.
• Strong awareness of Health and Safety and accuracy.
• Reliable, hardworking and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Operate Side Loader vehicles to move and load timber across the site.
• Load and unload timber in a fast-paced production environment.
• Follow Health and Safety procedures at all times.
• Complete and coordinate picking paperwork.
• Keep accurate written records of product details.
• Maintain a clean and tidy working environment.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report issues.

Job description

We are currently looking for a reliable and safety-conscious FLT or Side Loader Driver to join our busy sawmill team in Melton. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced operator, or someone with a valid FLT licence who is looking to develop their skills and train into a new role.

Working as part of our yard and production team, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of timber products across our site using Side Loaders and other handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating Side Loader vehicles to pick, move and load timber across our site
• Loading and unloading timber in a fast-paced production environment
• Following Health and Safety procedures at all times
• Completing and coordinating all necessary picking paperwork
• Keeping clear, accurate written records of product details
• Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any issues

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Side Loader or FLT Counterbalance licence (minimum requirement)
• Willingness to train as a Side Loader driver (full training provided)
• Previous experience in a timber or sawmill environment (advantageous)
• Strong awareness of Health and Safety
• Reliable, hardworking, and a team player
