Job summary

1st Reaction Security Limited is seeking professional Security Officers for a temporary-on-going contract at St John’s House in Northampton, a facility supporting people experiencing homelessness. The role focuses on maintaining safety and building respectful relationships with residents and partners.

You will perform bag searches, manage access, patrol the site, and provide a highly visible security presence.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervision or Close Protection).
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Full 5-year checkable employment and education history.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out bag searches to prevent prohibited items from entering the premises.
• Controlling access and egress, ensuring all visitors, contractors and residents are correctly recorded.
• Conducting regular internal and external patrols of the building and surrounding areas.
• Maintaining the security of doors, gates and access points.
• Providing a highly visible and professional security presence.
• Responding appropriately to incidents, disputes and emergencies, using conflict management and de-escalation techniques where appropriate.
• Completing accurate incident reports, occurrence logs and handover records.
• Liaising with our Control Room, emergency services and the client’s management team when required.
• Supporting the client in maintaining a safe environment for everyone on site.
