Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Retail Security Officer based at Morrisons Bath. The role focuses on protecting customers, staff and stock, maintaining a visible deterrent, patrolling the store and responding to incidents.

You'll hold a valid SIA licence, DBS/BS7858 clearance ability, and flexible shifts including weekends. The position offers a professional environment with opportunities to contribute to safety and service within the store.

Qualifications

• Must have valid SIA licence (DS or Security Guarding) and right to work in the UK.
• DBS and BS7858 security clearance requirement.
• Strong observational and reporting skills.
• Ability to handle incidents calmly and professionally.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence, deterring theft and anti-social behaviour
• Patrol the store and monitor CCTV for suspicious activity
• Respond to alarms and incidents, escalating where required
• Conduct searches in line with company procedures when necessary
• Complete accurate incident and observation reports
• Work closely with store management and staff on security matters
• Provide a professional and approachable presence
• Assist customers and staff with queries
• De-escalate challenging situations calmly
• Follow all site procedures, company policies and legal requirements
• Support the wider team and undertake additional duties as required
