Job summary

Virgin Active is seeking two Swim Instructors to join our Family Activities Team. This role is a Zero Hour position with flexible hours and an emphasis on delivering high-quality swimming lessons to members of all ages.

You will promote sessions, follow the Swim England/ASA national plan, ensure safety and provide excellent customer service while helping the club achieve its swimming programme goals.

Qualifications

• Swim England/ASA Level 2 or STA Level 2 certificate required.
• Excellent communication in person, over the phone and via email.
• Friendly, approachable and adaptable to members of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Promote and deliver swimming lessons to the highest standard.
• Create a safe, engaging learning environment for swimmers of all ages.
• Accurately complete records for attendance and progress.
• Collaborate with Swim management to hit targets and contribute to the club's success.

In this role, you will play a part in inspiring swimmers of all ages and abilities through engaging, high-quality lessons that build confidence, skills and a lifelong love of the water. You will create a safe, supportive and enjoyable learning environment while delivering exceptional member experiences and contributing to the success of our swim programme.

The Role

• Ensuring all poolside activities and scheduled swimming lessons are promoted effectively and delivered to the highest standard, creating an exceptional experience for our members.
• Responsible for developing creative and innovative classes following the Swim England (ASA) national plan for Teaching Swimming.
• Providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all of our members within the pool & surrounding areas.
• Deliver great customer service by providing personal attention and care to all members.
• Accurately complete records for the function to track attendance and improvements in fitness making sure individual, team and department targets are being consistently met.
• Work closely with Swim management to meet and exceed set targets and objectives, help achieve commercial success within the department and wider Club team.

Who We're Looking For

• To be successful, you'll need to be flexible, friendly and approachable. You'll be ready for an exciting challenge and have the ability to connect with our members and get on well with people from all walks of life.
• Swim England/ASA Level 2 in Teaching Swimming or STA Level 2 Certificate in Swimming Teaching
• Exceptional communication skills and experience in a customer facing environment, able to respond appropriately & professionally to everyone you interact with in all manners, including face to face, over the phone & via email correspondence.
