Job summary

A leading engineering firm in the UK is seeking a Shutdown Maintenance Engineer to develop maintenance plans and troubleshoot electrical systems in a food manufacturing environment. The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, strong troubleshooting skills, and ability to read electrical schematics. This is a 3-month contract position with potential for extension, working Thursday and Friday from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Job description

Overview

Shutdown Maintenance Engineer
Location: Rotherham
Contract Length: 3 Months
Hourly Rate: £32-£33 p/h DOE
Shifts: Thursday and Friday - 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (24 hours p/w)

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a shutdown maintenance plan for electrical systems, including control panels, PLCs, and motors.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot electrical faults.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on mechanical components, including conveyors, mixers, ovens, and packaging machines.
• Implement system upgrades to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Maintain detailed records of electrical repairs and parts replaced.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical systems during shutdown.

Qualifications & Experience

• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience in Food manufacturing
• Knowledge of electrical systems (PLCs, control panels).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure during shutdowns.
• Ability to read electrical schematics
