Job description

Here at ABP Langport, located in Southwest Somerset (TA10 9HG), we are currently recruiting for the ideal candidate to join our Yard Team as a Shunter and Yard Operative. Transport required due to our rural location. Please check your travel options before applying. Role definition:

Responsibilities
  • Provision of Shunting and Forklift services to maintain the smooth running of the plant and site to contribute to maximum operational efficiency.
  • Operate Shunter and Forklift as required according to SOP's, ensuring that all trailers are moved to the correct area and working as per procedures.
  • Ensure factory perimeters and external areas are maintained in an orderly and tidy manner at all times.
  • Ensure all non-food deliveries correspond with appropriate paperwork.
  • Carry out all vehicular activities in a manner which complies with site Health and Safety requirements.
  • Ensure CAT 1 and CAT 3 materials are disposed of correctly and that appropriate paperwork is correctly completed and retained.
  • Prepare trailers for production use in compliance with organisation operating procedures.
  • Load and unload lorries, ensuring goods are checked in accordance with organisational operating procedures.
  • Monitor bone-exit conveyor and ensure trailer is moved as required to prevent disruption to production or spillage of waste material.
  • Responsible for ensuring all maturation trailers are cleaned and working correctly; the ideal candidate will hold the appropriate vehicle licences and take responsibility for maintaining the licences.
Schedule

Day Monday to Friday 10am - 7pm
