Job summary

The People Providers Limited is recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter to join a site-based operation in Tibshelf. This full-time, permanent role offers a consistent shift pattern and the chance to become an FTE. Immediate starts available for eligible drivers with Class 1 (C+E) licence and CPC.

Shunting trailers, moving units, and maintaining a safe yard are key parts of the role, with regular checks and collaboration with transport teams to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid UK HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Minimum 6 months’ Class 1 driving experience.
• Previous shunting experience is advantageous.
• Valid CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good understanding of driver hours and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Shunting trailers and vehicles around the site and yard.
• Moving trailers between designated areas.
• Coupling and uncoupling trailers.
• Carrying out vehicle and trailer checks.
• Maintaining a safe and organised yard environment.
• Working closely with the site and transport teams.
• Following all site safety procedures and driver regulations.
