Role Summary

The successful candidate will support the warehousing and distribution operation by safely and efficiently shunting vehicles around the premises.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles safely and legally, ensuring compliance with all legal and site requirements.
• Consider other drivers, colleagues and pedestrians in the work area.
• Conduct all daily vehicle checks, report defects immediately and complete associated paperwork.
• Complete all necessary paperwork, such as movement sheets, on time and in full.
• Respect other road users and members of the public, safeguarding the reputation of the business at all times.
• Observe company rules and procedures as defined in the shunter pack and other company policies, such as site rules.
• Ensure all personal protective equipment (PPE) is in good order and used as instructed.
• Carry out operations in line with the relevant SSOW.
• Continually seek to improve our processes and services.

Essential Criteria

• Held an HGV 1 / C+E licence for a minimum of 2 years.
• No more than 6 points, no DD / DR code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC card.
• Understand and comply with driver hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and report defects correctly.
• Comply with on‑site health and safety requirements.
