Job summary

B&Q Bishop Auckland is seeking a Showroom Advisor to help customers realise bold kitchen and bathroom ideas. You will guide customers through product and financing options and use software to design solutions that bring projects to life.

You’ll coordinate multiple projects, support customers in-store and online, and convert designs into sales while collaborating with installers. Weekly hours include weekends and evenings on a rota.

• Strong customer-facing experience with a focus on service quality.
• Experience using design software to create inspirational room designs.
• Ability to convert designs into sales and manage customer journeys.

Responsibilities

• Ask questions to understand customer needs and propose finance, products and installation options.
• Produce inspirational designs using software for customer projects.
• Coordinate multiple projects and support customers both virtually and face-to-face.
• Work with colleagues and installers to deliver projects on time and to high standards.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and bank holidays as part of a rota.

Competitive salary (£14.10 per hour / £26,945 FTE) with individual bonuses up to £250 per quarter for hitting targets, plus additional team incentives and a £3,000 award for the highest performing 3–5% of colleagues

Sales matter in this role, but your real focus will be the customer. You’ll ask questions and explore possibilities to recommend the right finance, products, and installation options. You’ll use software to produce inspirational designs that will bring customer projects to life. Coordinating multiple projects & supporting customers virtually and face to face, you’ll take our customers on a journey from inspirational ideas through to delivery, helping to make their dreams a reality.

You’re great at using technology but more importantly you’ll have brilliant communication and relationship building skills as you’ll work closely with colleagues & installers to ensure we deliver the best service on every project. You’re motivated by targets, and are confident in converting your designs into sales. You work well as part of a team and you’re a good problem-solver too, with a keen eye for design. And you’re flexible enough to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
