Job summary

Russell Taylor Group Ltd in Chester is seeking a Manufacturing Cost & Inventory Accountant to join a specialist manufacturing business. This hands-on, on-site role sits on the shop floor and collaborates with Production, Operations, Procurement and Commercial teams to ensure stock, costs and data align.

You will own inventory accuracy, analyse BOMs and variances, drive better controls and reporting, and support the Site Controller with clear financial insight to influence operating decisions.

Qualifications

• Inventory, cost accounting or plant finance in manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of BOMs, production costs and variances.
• ERP experience, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Advanced Excel and data reporting skills.
• Qualification or significant experience in manufacturing finance.
• Strong problem-solving and shop-floor curiosity.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of inventory accuracy, reconciliation and control.
• Analyse production consumption, BOMs, yields, variances and standard costs.
• Investigate discrepancies and implement practical solutions.
• Ensure inventory movements and financial data reflect in ERP.
• Develop controls and reporting to reduce recurring issues.
• Support Site Controller with accurate manufacturing finance information.
