Job summary

Marine Resources Limited is seeking a skilled Shipwright to join our Gosport-based luxury yacht refit and repair team. This hands-on role covers structural, cosmetic, joinery, and composite work on prestigious sailing and motor yachts in a busy refit environment.

You will read technical drawings, work to exact specifications, and contribute to high-quality craftsmanship across interiors and exteriors. A strong background in timber and composites is essential, with attention to detail a must.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Shipwright or Boatbuilder.
• Strong woodworking and joinery skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Experience with timber and composites materials.
• Experience with yacht refit or high-end boatbuilding is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural and cosmetic shipwright work on luxury yachts
• Perform joinery, fitting, and repair tasks across interiors and exteriors
• Install, repair, and refurbish components including bulkheads and fittings
• Teak deck repairs, re-caulking, and installation work
• Laminating, bonding, varnishing, and general composite/wood repairs
• Interpret technical drawings and work to precise specifications
• Support refit and maintenance projects from start to finish
• Ensure all work meets high-quality marine and safety standards

About the Role We’re looking for a skilled Shipwright to join a highly regarded yacht refit and repair specialist based in Gosport. This is a hands-on role working on prestigious sailing and motor yachts, delivering high-quality craftsmanship across a wide range of refit, repair, and maintenance projects.

You’ll be part of a close-knit, experienced team working on some of the most respected yacht brands in the industry, where attention to detail and pride in workmanship are absolutely key.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out structural and cosmetic shipwright work on luxury yachts
• Perform joinery, fitting, and repair tasks across interiors and exteriors
• Install, repair, and refurbish components including bulkheads, panels, hatches, and fittings
• Teak deck repairs, re-caulking, and installation work
• Laminating, bonding, varnishing, and general composite/wood repairs
• Interpret technical drawings and work to precise specifications
• Support refit and maintenance projects from start to finish
• Ensure all work meets high-quality marine and safety standards

About You

• Proven experience as a Shipwright or Boatbuilder within the marine industry
• Strong woodworking and joinery skills essential
• Confident working with a range of materials including timber and composites
• Experience within yacht refit, repair, or high-end boatbuilding preferred
• Ability to read technical drawings and work independently or as part of a team
• High attention to detail with a strong pride in craftsmanship
• Familiarity with luxury yacht standards (Oyster, Swan, etc.) is advantageous
