Spider is advertising on behalf of our client who is looking for a Shipping Coordinator to join their team full-time on a permanent basis, based in Ipswich, Suffolk.

As a Shipping Coordinator, you will be the key link between shipping lines, port authorities, and clients, helping ensure port operations run efficiently. You’ll support vessel scheduling, documentation, and compliance, while contributing to smooth daily operations. This role is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in a dynamic maritime environment.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm in their Ipswich office, with an out-of-hours on-call rota (home-based) covering evenings, weekends, and bank holidays (paid overtime). You must be comfortable attending port-side when required.
As a Shipping Coordinator, you will be a proactive team player with strong communication skills and a genuine interest in the shipping or logistics sector. You should be comfortable attending port-side when required. You will be organised, able to handle changing situations, and proficient in IT, particularly MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. A customer-focused approach is important for building positive relationships with clients. While mostly office-based, you must be willing to support port operations as needed. A valid UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle, flexibility to travel, and the ability to work outside standard office hours are required.
This role is based in Ipswich, Suffolk. If you are successful for this role, you will be required to prove your right to work in the UK.
