Overview

Job Title: Ship Guano Cleaning Operative

Rate of Pay: £12.60 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Type of Employment: Full Time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: BAE Systems, 1066 Govan Road, Glasgow, Scotland, G51 4XP

Responsibilities
  • Remove and clean guano (bird droppings) from ship compartments
  • Ensure equipment is kept clean, well maintained and in safe working order
  • Meet all agreed SLAs and contribute to thorough cleaning to eliminate health hazards and mitigate risks of structural damage caused by guano deposits
Safety and Training
  • Complete a ship environment induction (provided by BAE Systems)
  • Proper guano handling and disposal procedures to minimize health risks
  • Use of approved cleaning agents and equipment
  • Work safely in shipbuilding environments with potential hazards such as working at height or within confined spaces
Teamwork and Customer Service

You will be required to work within a team and can work under your own initiative. You will need to build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, deliver excellent customer service and seek ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.
