Job summary

PRS is seeking an experienced Shift Technician to join a busy data centre operations team on an in-house basis. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance across critical M&E infrastructure in a secure, critical environment.

The role requires a strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance background, experience with UPS, generators, HVAC, BMS and LV systems, and the ability to work a continental shift pattern while maintaining high standards of safety and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Data centre experience and strong electrical/mechanical maintenance background.
• Experience with critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, HVAC, BMS, LV).
• Ability to work continental shift pattern and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across critical M&E infrastructure.
• Respond to reactive maintenance and equipment breakdowns.
• Monitor and maintain electrical and mechanical systems.
• Support safe operation of critical M&E plant.
• Complete routine inspections and identify faults.
• Assist with fault finding and corrective maintenance.
• Follow SOPs, RAMS and Permit to Work procedures.
• Maintain shift logs and maintenance records.
• Collaborate with engineers and contractors.
• Ensure works are completed safely according to site procedures.

SHIFT TECHNICIAN - DATA CENTRE | IN-HOUSE OPPORTUNITY

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Shift Technician to join an established data centre operation on an in-house basis. This is a great opportunity for a technically strong engineer looking to work directly within a critical environment, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across key M&E infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across critical infrastructure
• Respond to reactive maintenance and equipment breakdowns
• Monitor and maintain electrical and mechanical systems
• Support the safe operation of critical M&E plant
• Complete routine inspections and identify potential faults
• Assist with fault finding and corrective maintenance
• Follow SOPs, EOPs, RAMS and Permit to Work procedures
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and shift logs
• Work closely with the wider engineering team and specialist contractors
• Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with site procedures

Ideal Background

• Previous experience within a Data Centre, Critical Environment, Commercial Building or similar
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance background
• Experience with critical infrastructure such as UPS, generators, HVAC, BMS, LV systems and cooling
• Comfortable working on a continental shift pattern
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe systems of work
• Electrical qualifications are highly desirable
