Are you interested in building a career for yourself as an Engineer? Would you like the opportunity to work on our bespoke packaging line, utilising hi‑tech 6‑axis pick and place robots and fully automatic palletisers?

Here at GXO, we are looking for a multi‑skilled Shift Technician to join our team based at the HJ Heinz site in Wigan. The position is to cover the maintenance of the Company's Repack operation and NDC automation equipment.

Successful candidates will be required to rotate over three shifts, 06:00 till 14:00, 14:00 till 22:00 and 22:00 till 06:00. Sunday – Thursday for nights and Monday – Friday for the other shifts.

We’re looking to offer a salary of £40,655 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
  • Maintain and support our production lines to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
  • Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and lead root cause analysis to prevent future issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, and engineering standards.
  • Support breakdowns and servicing across key areas, while keeping the workspace clean and compliant.
