Job description

We are recruiting a Group Leader to lead up to 50 colleagues, ensuring the delivery of a safe and exceptional service to our client. This role operates on a rotational weekly shift pattern of 05:30‑14:30 and 15:00‑Midnight, with an annual salary of £44,910.59.

As a Group Leader, you will oversee the day‑to‑day operations and activities of one of our logistics teams, ensuring that our clients receive their orders promptly.

Providing expert leadership to your team, you will allocate team activities for each shift, including shunt operation, internal operations and managing the receiving docks.

Working with a team of other Group Leaders, you will place an emphasis on overall efficiency and safety, review current processes and standard operating procedures, and implement improvements where possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce comprehensive shift handovers.
  • Manage team training and mentoring processes.
  • Oversee employee performance, absence and conduct in accordance with Yusen procedures.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with Yusen and customer stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • A Counterbalance FLT licence.
  • Proven experience of managing people or divisions.
  • A good knowledge of health and safety requirements.
  • The ability to work in a fast‑paced environment to specific targets and deadlines.
  • A customer‑focused approach to work.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft packages.
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role is essential.
