As an expert practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in driving transformative outcomes for young people through innovative practice, partnership working, and systems thinking within Achieving for Children’s Family and Adolescents Directorate. What you will do
  • Lead and manage social work practice, ensuring high standards and consistent practice across the service.
  • Oversee contacts into the service, chair strategy meetings, and provide supervision and case direction.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to colleagues, ensuring the highest quality support and meeting statutory responsibilities as a frontline manager.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Guide and Head of Service to promote excellent practice.
  • Manage high‑level risk including safeguarding and public protection issues stemming from contextual factors.
  • Play a vital role in recruitment, training, best practice development, evaluation, and performance management.
  • Act as a critical friend to support, challenge, and help overcome obstacles, bringing a fresh perspective to SHiFT and social care processes.
