Job summary

Severn Trent is seeking a hands-on Waste Water Process Operator to keep Minworth works running smoothly. You will perform routine maintenance, take samples, analyse results and record data while supporting asset maintenance and energy efficiency initiatives.

The role includes alarms, emergencies and collaboration on major projects, with lone-working and 24/7 shifts at Minworth. We require a valid driver's licence and aim to develop you to Level 2 – Waste Water Process Operator during your

• Experience in wastewater treatment is welcome but not essential.
• Driver's licence is essential.

Responsibilities

Level 2 - Waste Water Process Operator

Job description

You'll play a hands-on role in keeping our largest sewage treatment works, Minworth, running smoothly, carrying out routine operational maintenance tasks. From taking process samples and analysing results to recording performance data and supporting first-line asset maintenance, your work will help keep everything flowing as it should. You'll also get involved in improving energy efficiency and optimising site performance-making a real difference for both the business and the environment. Safety is a top priority, so you'll work in line with health and safety standards at all times. The role involves planning and delivering daily tasks through a balance of proactive frontline operational activities and reactive responses, including attending alarms and emergency situations. Additionally, the role includes collaborating with wider teams on major capital investment projects, including supporting commissioning and delivery. You'll be based at our Minworth site. The role will involve some lone working so being self-motivated is key! This being such a critical role, we're looking for someone who can join us working a 24/7 shift rota (including weekends, nights and holidays - you will have planned rest days in your rota) you will receive additional shift allowance for this on top of your £33,404.50 salary. The successful candidate will be required to achieve the qualification Level 2 - Waste Water Process Operator as part of their continuous development and delivered by our Academy.

Having experience in Wastewater Treatment, Sludge Treatment or Sewage Pumping Stations and associated process knowledge would be very welcome but it's not essential. If you a passion to learn we will support you with the relevant training! Have a drivers licence is essential.
