Job description
Job objectives and responsibilities

Responsible for leading the day to day shift teams. Ensuring all planned, corrective and reactive are completed on time. Supporting root cause analysis and CAPAS’ for technical activities.

Main duties
  • Daily attendance at the 0900 / 1630 team activity call
  • Attendance at GSK morning TAP
  • Assigning duties to technicians during shifts
  • Day to day lead of shift team including conduct, performance and capability. Taking the necessary appropriate actions to address any inappropriate behaviour or low standards.
  • Hold regular shift team meetings on daily and weekly objectives
  • Providing direction and feedback to technicians during shifts
  • Effective handover with the other shift lead role
  • Participate in work activities, leading by demonstration, and showing them how to do the job effectively where required.
  • Assist in training and coaching new employees
  • Providing customer service and managing complaints
  • Prompt and correct documentation of incidents.
  • Ensure that communications are maintained between the technical supervisors & client relating to the progress of work orders.
  • Perform duties of a person authorised to issue permits to work.
  • Identify potential training requirements for existing team to ensure statutory requirements and efficient practices are met.
  • Attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required.
  • Bring innovation, build solutions to business challenges and maintain a ‘can-do' attitude.

  • Ability to plan/schedule both PPM & Reactive workload
  • Computer literate – competent in Microsoft Office and able to work on CAFM systems.
  • Knowledge of working on BMS systems.
Health and Safety responsibilities
  • Always follow Group and company policies and procedures.
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and/or via your divisional incident reporting system.
Information Security
  • Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities.
  • Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager.
  • Report actual and suspected security incidents.
