Overview

Maintenance Engineer – Exclusive Opportunity. Our client, a well-established leading FM company, is offering a full-time permanent opportunity for an Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer within the landlord side of the retail environment of a well-known shopping centre in Canary Wharf.

Package

Salary: £49,022

Hours: 7am – 7pm, 12-hour shifts (4 on, 4 off, 6 on, 6 off)

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
  • Identifying faults and carrying out repairs to electrical equipment and systems
  • Carrying out electrical installation work in accordance with regulations
  • Maintaining accurate records of work carried out
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests and inquiries
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including logic controllers and schematics
  • Perform welding tasks as required for repairs or modifications
  • Supervise maintenance staff and provide guidance on best practices
  • Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs and improve operational efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities
Qualifications and requirements
  • Full-time apprenticeship in an electrical or Building Services HVAC discipline with City & Guilds 236 part 1 & 2 certification or NVQ Level 3
  • Mechanical apprenticeship with relevant electrical experience may be acceptable
  • Previous experience in a modern building services maintenance environment with basic understanding of HVAC and building services
  • Electrical Installation (BS7671:2018) 18th edition desirably completed through an approved course
  • Level 3 Qualification in Electrical Installation and/or Maintenance Inspection and Testing (e.g., City & Guilds 2391, 2394, 2395 and/or EAL Qualification)
  • Knowledge of key operational procedures (time sheets, planned maintenance systems, Quality and Health & Safety)
  • Operational and technical experience with demonstrated potential
  • Experience resolving customer problems within specific contracts
  • Technical expertise, qualifications or apprenticeship in a craft skill or engineering discipline
  • Ability to work at heights outdoors (where required) and be tidy and presentable
  • English language required
