Job summary

Dudley Group is seeking an experienced nurse to lead the Trauma & Orthopaedics Outpatients team across Russells Hall and Corbett's Hospitals. You will manage day-to-day clinical and nursing care, supervise staff, and support virtual fracture clinics within a multidisciplinary framework.

The role requires proven leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to train staff and improve patient pathways. Flexible coverage across Trust sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current registration.
• Teaching/mentoring qualification required.
• Degree level study essential; leadership course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for day-to-day management and nursing care within the Trauma & Orthopaedics Outpatients department.
• Provide expert clinical and managerial advice to staff and patients.
• Co-ordinate services to meet total patient needs and update working protocols.
• Induct and train staff to required performance standards; deputise for Lead Nurse when required.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic experienced member of staff to join the Trauma & Orthopaedics outpatients team, working between both Russells Hall Hospital and Corbett's Hospital. The service runs Monday- Friday (08:30-18:00) with additional weekend and evening clinics running occasionally. This is a great opportunity to gain knowledge or build on your current knowledge and experience in Orthopaedics. You will be working in both elective orthopaedic, trauma orthopaedic as well as virtual fracture clinics. If you are ready for a challenge and can demonstrate excellent leadership skills then this is the position for you. Main duties of the job To take responsibility for all aspects of day to day management and nursing care within own clinical specialty and support the Trauma and Orthopaedic Team. This includes but is not limited to monitoring availability of virtual fracture clinics to ensure patients receive a timely review and assisting departmental Lead Nurse in managing the T&O Outpatients Department. Setting standards of care in conjunction with Trauma and Orthopaedics Directorate, co-ordinate services so that total patient needs are identified, ensuring appropriate individual patient care is given. This involves regular reviewing and updating of patient information and working protocols. The post holder will provide expert clinical and managerial advice and support to staff and patients and also work as part of the team within the Outpatients Department, deputising for the Lead Nurse as required.
