Job summary

Gama Aviation is seeking an experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineer to lead our Bournemouth Base Maintenance shift, combining technical excellence with leadership responsibility. You will guide engineering teams, drive productivity and ensure safe, timely delivery of maintenance tasks.

Reporting to the Base Maintenance Manager, you will own shift performance, coordinate resources, manage customer expectations and uphold regulatory, quality and safety standards within a fast-paced hangar

Qualifications

• UK CAA Part 66 Licence Category B1 or B2 with C rating and at least two aircraft type ratings.
• Experience leading or supervising engineering teams within aircraft maintenance environments.
• Extensive base maintenance experience with servicing, inspection, repair and modifications.
• Experience managing multiple maintenance inputs simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily engineering and safety briefings.
• Coordinate engineering teams across the shift.
• Drive productivity and allocate resources effectively.
• Own aircraft maintenance delivery targets and escalate risks.
• Serve as main point of contact for customers and stakeholders.
• Support planning and execution of multiple maintenance inputs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality and health & safety requirements.
• Monitor productivity and time booking accuracy.
• Lead shift handovers and maintain strong communication between teams.
• Support performance management, competency reviews and development of engineering personnel.
• Promote a positive, professional and safety-focused culture across the hangar.
