Role Overview

We're looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to keep our production machinery running at peak performance across multiple manufacturing sites. This is a hands‑on, problem‑solving role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, and takes pride in ensuring production lines operate efficiently and safely.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults on production equipment, process plant machinery, and associated systems.
  • Perform general mechanical and electrical maintenance across all sites.
  • Work on basic PLC systems, inverters, servo drives, motors, pumps, gearboxes, heating elements, sensors, and other complex components.
  • Maintain and repair conveyor systems, including belts, motors, bearings, shafts, and tensioners.
  • Service high‑speed packaging and filling machines, pasteurizers, inkjet printers, boxing machines, and inspection equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to identify and resolve issues before they impact production.
  • Accurately document interventions, faults, and breakdowns in line with maintenance procedures.
  • Update and maintain pre‑planned maintenance (PPM) systems, ensuring records meet company standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to drive overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and production performance.
Who You'll Work With

Internal: Production and process operatives, shift leads, shift managers, head of manufacturing, and engineering managers. External: Suppliers and customers.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Fully qualified Maintenance Engineer (City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Electrical qualifications and experience essential.
  • Experience with turning, milling, and welding is a plus.
  • FMCG manufacturing experience preferred.
  • 4on 4off (2days, 2nights) 12 hours.

  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Ensure food safety and quality protocols are followed at all times, including monitoring CCPs where applicable.
