Job summary

Jordans Cereals in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated Shift Engineer to support our Production teams in maintaining equipment and driving efficiency. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and follows a Panama shift pattern (days and nights).

You will diagnose and repair equipment, perform root cause analysis, and lead continuous improvement initiatives within a safety-first environment, working closely with production to resolve issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment with root cause analysis.
• Proactive maintenance tasks and timely issue resolution alongside production.
• Good understanding of PLCs and ability to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Commitment to safety, quality and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair production equipment to meet volumes and efficiencies.
• Identify and resolve safety, quality, or downtime issues with assets.
• Work closely with the production department to implement improvements.
• Complete and update proactive maintenance tasks regularly.

Overview Of Role

Are you a passionate, dedicated Shift Engineer looking for a rewarding career supporting our Production teams in driving forward profitability and growth in our business?

We have great opening to join our Engineering Team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Shift Pattern: Panama Shift, days and nights

Key Accountabilities

This role involves the maintenance, timely repairs using root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment and plant and facilities to ensure the delivery of production volumes and efficiencies within an environment that puts the safety of its people and food as a priority.

You will be working closely with the production department to identify and resolve safety, quality, or downtime issues with assets in a timely manner. In addition, the completion and updating of proactive maintenance tasks is a vital part of the role.

The Right Person

You will need to have great judgement, the ability to diagnose and repair the equipment, as well as taking a long-term view in identifying improvements. You will also have a good understanding of PLC’s.

You will be motivated to make a difference everyday with the ability to operate successfully in a fast-changing environment whilst refusing to accept poor standards.
