Are you a skilled engineer ready to take on a hands‑on role in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment? We're working with a leading organisation in Doncaster that's seeking an experienced Shift Engineer to join their dynamic Engineering team.

About the Role

As a Shift Engineer, you'll play a key part in keeping operations running smoothly by carrying out effective maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement across the site. You'll be part of a skilled, supportive team committed to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance. You'll work a Double Days shift pattern, with plenty of opportunity for personal development and overtime.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns efficiently.
  • Manage and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and operational KPIs.
  • Support colleagues and contribute to achieving departmental targets.
  • Ensure all engineering work adheres to Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.
  • Supervise contractors on‑site and maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
  • Monitor spare parts stock and ensure machinery meets site standards.
  • Communicate effectively with teams across Operations, Technical, HR, Finance, and Quality.
About You
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar engineering role.
  • At least 2 years' experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance (or equivalent education).
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical/electrical repair and maintenance.
  • Strong problem‑solving, organisational, and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive, safety‑conscious, and confident in challenging constructively.
  • Experience in food manufacturing and knowledge of Pirana CMMS are desirable.
