Major Recruitment are recruiting a Shift Cover Machine Operator (Trainee Shift Cover Operator) for a prestigious manufacturing company based in Failsworth, Manchester. The role involves a rotating weekly shift pattern and requires flexibility to cover shifts at short notice, with full training provided.

Successful candidates will be trained in raw materials handling, bagging, robot operation and despatch FLT, with opportunities to progress to PMU Operator as part of a structured development path.

Qualifications

• Experience in production or machine operation in plastics, extrusion, masterbatch, chemical, or food manufacturing.
• Willingness to be trained as PMU Operator.
• Counterbalance FLT licence desirable; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Move materials, finished product and packaging safely and accurately.
• Weigh and record pallets of finished products.
• Relabel and restack finished product as required and maintain stock accuracy.
• Carry out daily FLT checks and ensure clean, safe working area.
• Report accidents and follow safe working procedures; support despatch duties when needed.
