Deputy Ward Leader – Day Case Unit

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Deputy Ward Leader to join our busy Day Case Unit. This role provides clinical leadership and operational management across three distinct areas, ensuring high‑quality evidence‑based care in a safe and efficient environment.

Reporting directly to the Ward Leader, you will:

  • Take day‑to‑day responsibility for directing and controlling nursing activity in the absence of the Ward Leader.
  • Provide strong clinical leadership and support to the team, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate the smooth running of the unit, demonstrating excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, health and safety, and Trust policies.
  • Uphold the principles of equality, diversity, and dignity in all aspects of patient care and staff management.
