A global chemical manufacturer is seeking a SHEQ Specialist to implement Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems at their Runcorn facility. Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems including ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001.
  • NEBOSH Qualification or equivalent qualifications.
  • Proven experience in leading Internal Audits on ISO9001, ISO45001, or ISO14001.
  • Strong background in implementing Health and Safety Compliance.
  • Experience in stakeholder communication with various business levels.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the effective implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Maintain the management systems manual and prepare reviews of safety management systems.
  • Manage the internal audit plan and participate in SHEQ initiatives.
  • Manage external audits from certifying bodies and other interested parties as required.

The company is a globally leading chemical manufacturer, heavily involved in the development of products which are used in the chemical, pharmaceutical and automotive industries. Their site is based in the Runcorn area with free onsite parking, making it easily commutable from surrounding areas such as Widnes, Warrington, Liverpool, St. Helens and the Cheshire area.

Role Overview

The role of the SHEQ Specialist is to develop and drive the implementation of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems across the business at their manufacturing plant in Runcorn. The role is to ensure that compliance assurance activities, both internal and external, are planned and coordinated in line with regulation guidance and full compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the effective implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Maintain the management systems manual and prepare and present quarterly and annual reviews of the safety management systems for site management.
  • Manage the internal audit plan.
  • Take part in SHEQ initiatives such as Safety Walks, SHE Training Days, Internal Audits and Risk Assessments.
  • Manage external audits from certifying bodies and supply chain or other interested third parties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems; ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001
  • NEBOSH Qualification (or equivalent, e.g., NVQ Level 6, Level 6 Diploma).
  • Proven experience in leading Internal Audits on ISO9001, ISO45001 or ISO1400.
  • A strong background in implementing Health and Safety Compliance.
  • Prior experience of communicating with stakeholders of the business, e.g., communication with BSI, Company Managers, Business Board etc.
