Job Title: SHEQ Advisor - Water Infrastructure

Salary: c. £45,000 per annum (DOE) + Package + Vehicle or Allowance

Location: Field Based (covering Old Oak Common, Luton & Harlow)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Due to project timescales, sponsorship is not available for this role.

About the Role

Due to significant operational growth, our client—a leading infrastructure engineering specialist—is looking for an experienced SHEQ Advisor to support critical water and utility frameworks.

You will be supporting operational teams across high-profile projects, specifically covering Old Oak Common (HS2) and complex reservoir works in the Luton and Harlow areas. This is a technical safety role requiring specific knowledge of the risks associated with water treatment, reservoirs, and deep drainage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits across water infrastructure, reservoirs, and treatment sites, ensuring strict compliance with industry standards.
  • Promote best practices and ensure environmental compliance, with a heavy focus on pollution prevention, discharge control, and water hygiene.
  • Support operational teams to implement SHEQ management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001) in a utilities environment.
  • Deliver SHEQ training and toolbox talks relevant to water and construction hazards.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist with the development of RAMS, ensuring specific water-related risks are mitigated.
  • Liaise with project teams and clients to ensure consistent SHEQ performance.
What We\'re Looking For
  • Essential Accreditation: Valid EUSR / SHEA Water registration is required.
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience in a SHEQ role within the water industry, with exposure to reservoirs, water treatment, or infrastructure construction processes.
  • Qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate is essential.
  • Professional Membership: IOSH Membership (Tech IOSH or higher).
  • Good knowledge of CDM Regulations and specific environmental management practices regarding watercourses and pollution control.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential as the role involves travel between Old Oak Common, Luton, and Harlow).
