About The Role

The sheltered housing service consists of 21 sheltered housing schemes split across 3 areas within the Borough of Hounslow. Sheltered Scheme Managers are based at a scheme and provide an enhanced housing management service to residents and cover at other schemes when required.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

You will be joining the Sheltered Housing Team, which provides day‑to‑day support to older and vulnerable residents living in our sheltered schemes. Our aim is to help residents remain independent for as long as possible, while making sure they feel safe, supported, and part of the community. The work of the team has a direct impact on residents’ wellbeing. This includes carrying out welfare checks, managing scheme buildings, responding to tenancy issues, and helping residents access the right services when needed.

The team is made up of Sheltered Scheme Managers who each look after one or more schemes. You will work closely with colleagues across Housing Management Team. As a Sheltered Scheme Manager, you will report to the Sheltered Housing Team Leader.About You

  • Follow all procedures relating to the Sheltered Housing and Linkline services.
  • Take responsibility for the care, safety, and security of Sheltered Housing buildings, including all fixtures and fittings.
  • Complete all required paperwork and departmental procedures, ensuring files are accurate, up to date, and reflect any changes—this includes tenant information files and Health and Safety records.
  • Carry out daily visits to tenants to monitor their wellbeing and support them in reporting any faults or issues.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of older residents and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy, with the ability to keep accurate records and collate data. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and good overall computer literacy.
  • Ability to promote and facilitate social activities within the scheme.
  • Basic DBS check is required.

Essential For The Role

  • Hold a full driving licence and must provide own motorised transport.
