Job Description
We're partnering with a well-established London local authority known for its commitment to safe, well-managed homes and high-quality services for older and vulnerable residents. They are now seeking an experienced Sheltered Housing Manager to lead the delivery of enhanced housing management across their sheltered schemes.
This is an interim opportunity perfect for someone with strong leadership experience in sheltered or supported housing, excellent knowledge of housing legislation, and a passion for improving resident wellbeing.
The Role
- Directly manage a team of Specialist Housing Officers, providing leadership, support, coaching and clear performance management.
- Ensure schemes are safe, clean, well-maintained and compliant through systematic inspections and monitoring.
- Oversee voids, tenancy sustainment and resident onboarding to ensure smooth transitions and minimise revenue loss.
- Support effective rent management and promote financial inclusion for residents.
- Coordinate repairs and make best use of the Handy Person service for residents who need additional support.
- Promote social activities, community engagement and use of communal spaces to enhance quality of life.
- Build strong working relationships with care / support providers and internal partners to deliver seamless services.
- Report on KPIs, drive continuous improvements and support strategic planning.
- Ensure robust safeguarding, equality, health & safety and information management practices.
- Contribute to emergency planning and service continuity procedures.
About You
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience managing a sheltered or supported housing service, including direct management of housing officers.
- A strong background working with older or vulnerable customers.
- Solid understanding of housing legislation, H&S requirements and safeguarding.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyse data, monitor performance and drive service improvements.
- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to equality and inclusion.
Contract Details
- Interim / Temporary
- Pay: Equivalent to £54,213 per annum (paid via hourly / daily rate)
- Location: West London (Hammersmith & Fulham)
- DBS: Enhanced DBS required (or willingness to obtain)
