Responsibilities

  • Interpret technical drawings, work cards and specifications accurately.
  • Fabricate and assemble complex parts using a variety of sheet metal tools.
  • Handle thin gauge materials.

Skills

Cutting, bending and shaping sheet metal using hand tools
Forming metal over blocks or forms using hammers
Inspecting and finishing seams and joints
Understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications
Commitment to achieving right-first-time quality
Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations

Education

Sheet Metal Worker

Location: Derby

Salary: £33,000 £35,375 per annum DOE

Hours
  • Initial: MonThu 7:00 am 3:30 pm, Fri 7:00 am 12:00 pm
  • Potential shift pattern change:
    • Early: MonThu 6:00 am 2:00 pm, Fri 6:00 am 1:00 pm
    • Late: MonThu 2:00 pm 10:00 pm, Fri 9:00 am 4:00 pm
About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join our aerospace manufacturing team. You'll be working with precision components and specialist materials, ensuring every part meets exacting standards for quality and performance. This is a hands‑on role for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship and thrives in a fast‑paced production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret technical drawings, work cards and specifications accurately
  • Fabricate and assemble complex parts using a variety of sheet metal tools
  • Work with high‑performance materials
  • Handle thin gauge materials
  • Carry out riveting, sealing and assembly of fabricated and machined components
  • Inspect work visually and document results to tight tolerances
  • Identify and report non‑conforming products or processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain a safe and organised workspace in line with 5S principles
Skills & Experience
  • Skilled in cutting, bending and shaping sheet metal using hand tools
  • Ability to form metal over blocks or forms using hammers
  • Competent in inspecting and finishing seams and joints
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications
