Job summary

A leading UK MRO provider based in Luton is seeking multiple Sheet Metal Workers to join their Line Maintenance team. This role requires in-depth knowledge of aircraft maintenance and strong skills in sheet metal work. Salary: Competitive

Hours / Shift Pattern: 5 on / 4 off, 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:00)

About the Role

We are seeking multiple Sheet Metal Workers to join our client's Line Maintenance team in Luton. Working under the guidance of the Certifying Engineer, you will support all aspects of aircraft maintenance. The role requires an in-depth understanding of the Structural Repair Manual (SRM) and the hand skills necessary to complete complex structural repairs on a variety of aircraft.

Role Overview

Perform sheet metal work activities on fabricated parts, including drilling, deburring, filling insets, and general SMW tasks.
Manufacture and fabricate aircraft SMW parts, panels, doors, and other components.
Interpret customer specifications and technical drawings accurately.
Complete maintenance, repairs, and fabrication tasks to the standard specified in technical data.
Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with company MOE and MRO systems.
Follow regulatory requirements (EASA Part 145, Part M, Part 66) and company H&S policies.
Maintain high standards of airworthiness, quality, safety, and performance.
Keep aircraft maintenance logbooks up to date and maintain SMW authorisation.
Perform general housekeeping and ad hoc project work as required.

Education & Qualifications

Recognised apprenticeship in aircraft industry or similar.

Skills & Experience
  • Proven aviation maintenance experience.
  • Excellent SMW hand skills.
  • Understanding of Part 145, H&S, and human factors.
  • Ability to interpret technical publications and make fact-based decisions.
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Production Planning.
  • High standard of English (written & oral) and computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
  • Forklift licence desirable.
Working Conditions

Based in a paint workshop environment.

Additional Requirements
  • Hold and maintain valid Company Aircraft SMW authorisation.
  • Maintain audit-ready work area, equipment, and records.
  • Comply with company and legal requirements related to aircraft maintenance.
