Sheet Metal Supervisor

Hours: MondayThursday 7:00 am 4:00 pm, Friday 7:00 am 12:00 pm Salary: £42,500 per annum

We’re looking for a hands‑on leader to oversee a busy sheet metal production area within a high‑volume manufacturing environment. This role is all about driving safety, quality, and efficiency while motivating a skilled team to deliver exceptional results. You’ll take ownership of day‑to‑day operations, ensuring targets are met, processes run smoothly, and continuous improvement is embedded across the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion health and safety standards and ensure compliance at all times
  • Lead and develop a multi‑skilled team to achieve production goals and KPIs
  • Plan and prioritise workloads to meet customer and business requirements
  • Monitor quality standards and ensure all components meet specification
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure team competency
  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S practices
  • Review production methods and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost control
  • Manage staffing levels and adjust resources to meet changing demands
  • Investigate non‑conformance issues and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate production documentation and system updates
  • Oversee attendance, performance, and absence management for direct reports
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience leading teams in a manufacturing or engineering environment (aerospace or automotive preferred)
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and machining processes
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and working to tight tolerances
  • IT skills at intermediate level
  • Recognised supervisory qualification desirable
  • Flexible approach with ability to work additional hours when required
