Job summary

KPJ Group in Hyde is seeking a Sheet Metal Foreman to lead a hands-on fabrication team while continuing to work on the shop floor.

The role focuses on producing high-quality sheet metal work, organizing daily workflow, supervising colleagues, attending production meetings, and supporting an apprentice. It offers a 7:30am start, Mon–Fri, with early finishes on Thursdays and Fridays.

Qualifications

• Strong sheet metal fabrication experience.
• Experience supervising or leading others.
• Ability to organise workloads and prioritise jobs.
• Hands-on approach with high finish standard.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hands-on sheet metal fabrication for the majority of the week.
• Produce high-quality work where finish and appearance are particularly important.
• Allocating jobs and organising daily workflow across the shop floor.
• Supervising and supporting other fabrication team members.
• Taking part in production meetings.
• Helping ensure work is completed efficiently and to the required standard.
• Supporting the training and development of an apprentice.
• Balancing production pace with the care and attention needed for more detailed work.

Job description

We’re looking for a Sheet Metal Foreman to join a specialist engineering business in Hyde.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong sheet metal fabrication experience and the confidence to supervise others, as around 90% of your time will still be spent working on the tools, with the remaining time focused on organising workflow, allocating jobs and supporting the wider team.
